As the sun sets behind Bowen Island, I set the camera for 1 and 2 second exposures to try to visually feel the motion. I was pretty happy with the results.

Last Tuesday,
I lead a 'Vancouver Photowalks Meetup' group
to the weekly Third Beach Drum Circle in Stanley Park.

When I was young,
I was always fascinated by the water bugs
that seemed to race across the surface of the water.

Older now,
my fascination has not waned.

We had a tour of the Vancouver Public Library a month ago.

It certainly wasn't my first visit,
but what struck me this time was the sense,
that every visit
feels like the first.
 

And this time,
I could feel the building with different eyes.

Sometimes I feel
we are but a blip,
in our world.

Though make it a beautiful blip...

Two days ago was the 148th birthday
of an often ignored,
sometimes confused,
sometimes boring,
but pretty wonderful place.
Canada.

I find the flag waving,
and the over the top patriotism a bit much.  
But hanging out with other people,
just hanging out,
just makes it for me.

Perhaps we should celebrate the other 364 days,
as we do this day.
