Windows are a kind of transparent wall between those of us looking out and those looking in. But in this apparent transparency lies the question of how much we see and how we see, often creating a kind of magical confusion...

To further clarify the missing shoes post of several weeks ago, here is some context. This wonderful, 'contextural' sculpture is located on Cambie street north of Vancouver City Hall and heading to the sky train station.

Another post about timing, this time at Jericho wharf. I am not a fishermen but have always liked watching, and in this case I really wondered what they were talking or thinking (or not) about. I sure wonder what this women was describing; the mind wanders?!

I think I will continue the idea of 'timing' this week. This image just back from ABC Photo Finishing ties in with recent happenings at Vancouver City Hall. There are a several headless bronze sculptures all walking away from city hall to the sky train station. Considering the number of high profile staff exits from city hall in the last years including the recent departure of the chief of planning I find the sculpture very funny in a tragic way. Are these Brent's shoes?

In a world where more and more communications and services can be had instantly, waiting for film to be developed is still one of life's small pleasures. I still enjoy the anticipation of the new negs on the light table or more then likely, straight onto the computer screen from the scanning cd. Often there are surprises...
